International Students

Whilst your study life is intense and demanding, you should also find the time to experience other opportunities that exist within the University and Colleges.

Public Events

There are hundreds of events at the University throughout the year. Forthcoming events are listed at What's On. Annual fesitvals include the Cambridge Science Festival and Cambridge Festival of Ideas.

Student Societies

You may wish to participate in one or more of the registered student societies.

Sport

The University has a vibrant sports scene supported by world-class facilities and with over 50 sports clubs.

Volunteering

The Public Engagement team work closely with voluntary organisations, and support public engagement, community and outreach work. If you, or a society that you belong to, would like to get involved with volunteer work, contact the team for further information.

Student Unions

Cambridge University Students' Union and the Graduate Union offer a variety of events throughout the year. You may also find that the student reps in your College organise events too.

Internships and vacation work

The Careers Service publishes vacation opportunities with organisations targeting Cambridge students. It also provides a comprehensive guide to finding vacation work and unpaid opportunities.

If you would like to undertake an internship, or do vacation work or other work, you will need to be mindful of the University's working restrictions. If you are studying on a student visa, you will also need to check the working conditions of your student visa. If you are unsure, you should contact the International Student Office.
