International Students

Undergraduate study

Information on applying to the University of Cambridge as an undergraduate student is held on the Undergraduate Study webpages. This includes additional guidance for international students on how to apply, entrance requirements, application deadlines, international fees and financial support.

Postgraduate study

The Postgraduate Admissions Office process applications for most postgraduate courses. In addition to the standard information for all postgraduate students, there is specific information for international students on entry requirements and financial matters.

Cambridge Judge Business School

Many international students undertake the MBA, Master of Finance (MFin), Executive Education or Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship at the Cambridge Judge Business School. Applications for these programmes are made direct to this School.

Education: PGCE, courses for teachers

The Faculty of Education accepts applications for PGCE courses and its webpages detail the application procedures and requirements, costs and funding opportunities.

Executive and Professional Education

Cambridge offers a wide range of programmes and solutions in the areas of executive and professional education (EPE) to complement its traditional undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Aimed at executives, and those in more specific professional disciplines, they will help individuals and organisations to develop and grow by meeting their needs personally, strategically, and operationally.

Short & part-time courses: Institute of Continuing Education

Our Institute of Continuing Education offers short non-credit courses, residential and summer schools, and part-time, award-bearing programmes ranging from Undergraduate Certificates through to Master of Studies degrees. These are open to individuals living outside the UK, and the Institute describes what you need to consider before applying.

Visiting students

Each year, a small number of students come to Cambridge to study or undertake supervised research as part of their overseas qualification. This is usually by arrangement with a University Faculty or Department and predominantly applies to visiting postgraduate students. Some of the Cambridge Colleges consider applications from international visiting students to undertake a short course of undergraduate study.

The University also has bilaterial agreements with some international partner universities and welcomes year abroad exchange students under these arrangements. The School of Clinical Medicine accepts a limited number of students to undertake a medical elective. The University also participates in the Amgen Scholars Programme.
