International Students

The University of Cambridge is a diverse international community and welcomes talented students from around the world. There are currently more than 24000 students in total at the University with over 9000 international students representing over 140 different countries. Around 25% of undergraduate students and over 50% of postgraduate students are from outside the UK.

The international student data tool provides information on the number of students at Cambridge by nationality or domicile. You can also select whether the data includes all students, new students in a given academic year only (new entrants) or continuing students only (not new starters in a given academic year).

The University is home to hundreds of international societies which promote cultural ties and provide social opportunities. Look through the full list of societies.

With over 120,000 overseas alumni in more than 200 countries, and in excess of 420 volunteer-led Alumni Groups in more than 90 countries, Cambridge is believed to have the widest-reaching alumni network of any university in the world. The Development and Alumni Relations office offers an enticing programme of activities that enable alumni to network with each other and stay connected to Cambridge, including global events, international travel and an award-winnning magazine.
