The procedure for updating your visa documentation with a name or nationality change differs depending on whether you are in the UK or overseas. You must ensure that you follow the relevant instructions for your situation as outlined below.

If you were not issued a BRP but were granted a digital status then you need to sign in and update your UKVI account when you have a new identity document (eg. renewed passport) or have changed your name or nationality. To do this you can find instructions here.
If you have changed your name and you are outside the UK you can apply for a BRP replacement single entry visa before returning to the country. This will allow you to enter the country with your passport containing your new name. Full guidance on how to do this is outlined here.
Once in the UK you will need to apply to change your BRP to your new name by following the instructions below in ‘I’m inside the UK and have changed my name’
You must apply for a new BRP and are required to do this within 3 months by making an application online. Full guidance on the process is outlined here.
If your passport under your previous nationality is rescinded then you will need to apply for a BRP replacement single entry visa. This will allow you to enter the UK under your new nationality and passport. Full guidance on how to do this is outlined here.
Once in the UK you will need to apply to change your BRP to your new nationality by following the instructions below in ‘I’m inside the UK and have changed my nationality’.
You must apply for a new BRP and are required to do this within 3 months by making an application online. Full guidance on how to do this is outlined here.
You are able to enter the UK carrying both passports and your BRP.
Once you return to the UK please follow the instructions above for 'I am inside the UK and I have renewed my passport'.
You must notify UKVI of this via a Change in Circumstances form and you are required to do this within 3 months. Page 3 of the form contains guidance on what to do if you have received a new passport.
You must take your new passport to your College Tutorial Office so a scan can be obtained and uploaded to your student record.
