Turing Scheme
The Turing Scheme is the UK global mobility programme, delivered by the government's Department for Education, and provides funding for current students to gain international experience, develop skills and boost employability.
The Turing Scheme focuses on the following aims:
- enhancing skills
- advancing social justice
- ensuring value for money
Institutions are required to bid for Turing Scheme funding on an annual basis. Students cannot apply directly to the government for funding themselves. The scheme is administered at Cambridge by the International Student Office.
If the University's bid for funding is successful, eligible students will receive information from their Faculty or Department about the application process. Budget allocations under the scheme are limited due to demand at a national level and, as such, funding is expected to support students who are in financial need. This also supports the aims of the scheme as outlined above.
