Whilst your study life is intense and demanding, you should also find the time to experience other opportunities that exist within the University and Colleges.
The University actively works to nurture charitable, educational and voluntary partnerships between the University and its communities. You can be part of this through attending or actively taking part in our public events or outreach and widening participation activities.
You may wish to participate in one or more of the 700+ registered student societies; of these more than 100 are internationally focused and 30 are faith based. The Cambridge Life pages describe what is available from sport and fitness, to drama, music, and volunteering.
The student unions offer a variety of events throughout the year, which are promoted through their websites. You may also find that the student reps in your College organise events too.
Internships and vacation work
The Careers Service publishes vacation opportunities with organisations targeting Cambridge students. It also provide a comprehensive guide to finding vacation work and unpaid opportunities, including some financial support.
The International Student Team coordinates or promotes various schemes which enable international travel, summer programmes or networking opportunities.
If you would like to undertake an internship, or do vacation work or other work, you will need to be mindful of the University regulations and your responsibilities under the UK immigration rules (if you hold a visa). If these are unclear, first contact the International Student Team.
