The University of Cambridge is a diverse international community and welcomes talented students from around the world. There are currently more than 20000 undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University with close to 8000 international students representing over 120 different countries. Around 20% of undergraduate students and 50% of graduate students are from outside the UK.
The international student data tool provides information on the number of students at Cambridge by nationality or domicile. You can also selected whether the data includes all students, new students in a given academic year only (new entrants) or continuing students only (not new starters in a given academic year).
The University is home to hundreds of international societies which promote cultural ties and provide social opportunities. Look through the full list of societies.
Cambridge has over 65,000 overseas alumni in over 190 countries. Complementing the activities of the Development and Alumni Relations office, there is a network of over 450 volunteer-led Alumni Groups in over 115 countries – the widest-reaching alumni network of any university in the world. Events, an alumni travel programme, the internet and publications all enable Cambridge alumni to network with each other and stay connected to Cambridge.
